      About Daytrails

Daytrails is one of Southern Arizona's rising alternative rock bands, blending elements of pop, indie, and rock into a fresh sound destined for adventure. Formed in 2021, the band draws inspiration from the desert landscape surrounding Tucson, pairing surf-tinged melodies and shimmering guitar textures with a hook-forward, pop-rock approach.

The project began with founding members and freshman-year roommates David Cantillo (vocals, guitar) and James Linskey (drums), who decided to turn a shared creative vision into a dedicated band during a summer In-N-Out drive-thru conversation. That initial spark later grew into a full lineup with the addition of Dylan Stanton (bass) and Joseph “JoJo” Lanser (lead guitar), solidifying Daytrails’ dynamic and melodic sound.

Daytrails has released a growing catalog of singles including “Waterfalls,” “Stay for the Summer,” and “Swept Away,” earning attention for their polished production, emotive songwriting, and energetic live performances. On stage, the band has shared bills with national acts such as COIN, flor, and Post Sex Nachos, while becoming a familiar presence at Tucson venues like the Rialto Theatre, Hotel Congress, and Dusk Music Festival. With momentum continuing to build, Daytrails is quickly establishing themselves as one of Arizona’s most promising homegrown acts in the alternative rock scene.
